Team Management Appointments

Bob Turner (Chairman-Welsh Fencing) announces that Welsh Fencing has now made two team management appointments, namely:

- Junior Team Manager: Neale Thomas

- Senior Team Manager: Mark Nelson-Griffiths

Both Managers will have discretion to appoint Assistant Managers where and when necessary.

Club Constitutions

When forming a new club it is necessary to apply for membership of Welsh Fencing and to submit a club constitution for acceptance. To download a sample Club Constitution, click here.

Social members entering competitions

When signing up for Social Membership, the BFA provide a form which entitles insurance cover for ONE local competition. A competition entry from a Social member will not be accepted unless accompanied by this form.

Children Fencing in Adult Competitions

The fencing season is defined as running from 1st September to the 31st Aug each year.

A child has to be 13 years old, or older, on the datum line of Jan 1st, during that season, to fence against over 18's in that season.

For example - season '06 / '07 (Sept '06 - Aug '07) If the child is 13 years old on Jan 1st '07 then they can fence, at age 12, against over 18's during the period Sept '06 onwards.

If not 13 on Jan 1st then they are too young to compete in the '06 - '07 season.

Any Questions?

Welsh fencers who wish to communicate any questions or views are always welcome to do so, either by contacting the Secretary direct at 37 Lansdowne Avenue East, Cardiff CF11 8BU, or via Marc Burkhalter or Ruth Silverstone, both of whom are often available at events.
