Commencing September '07 Welsh Fencing are to introduce a revised Coach Education System. It remains a 5 Level system. Level 1, the Introductory Award, will continue to be based the current Level 1 (Red Book). Levels 2 - 5, please contact Peter Stewart for a syllabus. The following education materials for Levels 2 - 5 are available from Peter Stewart 02920 371844 or peter.stewart17@btinternet.com . They are a valuable resource for students who should study them to not only obtain knowledge but to appreciate the standards required with these new awards. To coach one must have a coaching qualification recognised by WF, be currently affiliated as a Full WF member, be over 18, have current CRB Clearance, and be Registered on the BFA Coaches Register. Only those on the current Register are insured for their coaching activities. Persons who do not comply with these criteria, in full, are NOT allowed to coach. It is a clubs responsibility to ensure that their coaches meet these requirements. Education Documentation and InformationThe following are available:
Containing: Procedure and conduct of Examinations, Syllabuses for all levels of Examinations in all three weapons, syllabuses for written examinations (Levels 4 & 5), Marking Sheets for all examinations, explanation of the marking sheets and guidance to examiners for all examinations, list of questions (compulsory elements, Special and Class lessons) for all levels of examinations. Cost £6.00 plus 50p p/p Cheques payable to 'Welsh Fencing' We recommend this item to all students who wish to attain an award.

Coach TrainingWelsh Fencing provides coach education training, free of charge, to all of their members. Regular sessions throughout the season are scheduled. All levels of from novice to experienced are encouraged to attend. Coaches who may currently hold a qualification are particularly encouraged to attend, maybe to study for further awards, to maintain their standard, or to further develop their depth of knowledge and experience.
