On 11th and 12th July, Welsh Fencing ran another successful Cadet 6 Weapon Cadet BRC. With an entry of over 200 fencers across the weapons, this is one of the biggest events of its type in the UK fencing calendar.
A high standard of fencing was on display across the whole weekend, and many congratulations to all fencers for their performances. The full results list can be found here: Cardiff 6W Cadet BRC July 2026, but particular congratulations go to the following Welsh fencers:
- Oliver Hewett – Gold – Men’s Sabre
- Oskar Picton-Tulley – Gold – Men’s Foil
- Lorraine Ferrer – Silver – Women’s Sabre
The event attracts not only the top cadet fencers, but some of the UK’s top referees. Several FIE level referees supported the event, not just refereeing, but mentoring and developing referees from Wales and across the UK.
Welsh Fencing would like to extend a big thank you to all the referees that supported this event, along with the medical, welfare, armoury and volunteer staff……….without you, these events just can’t happen!
The Welsh Open is the next major Welsh Fencing open event on the weekend of 7th/8th November. The event is open for entries on Sport80, but entries are limited, so early entry is recommended. For full details, go to welshopen.cymru.
